Flagship network isolation for a reference digital source

The Innuos NazaréNET is the network component of the company’s flagship three-box digital system. It places a purpose-built WaveNET switch board, precision clock and extensive low-noise power supply inside the same mechanically controlled chassis platform as the NAZARÉ server and NazaréFLOW reclocker. It can also be used with other high-performance streamers that rely on wired Ethernet.

Four Gigabit RJ45 ports connect copper network devices. A single-mode SFP fiber port, specified for 1310nm operation and distances up to 10km with the supplied class of Finisar module, can eliminate the direct electrical connection to an upstream switch. Fiber is valuable where its isolation solves a real installation problem; it still requires compatible modules, correct cable and a properly designed path at both ends.

The WaveNET board receives four independently regulated and electrically isolated DC rails. These divide power among the OCXO clock, analog Ethernet transceivers and digital controller sections. A 3ppb oven-controlled oscillator provides the timing reference. Once initialized, custom firmware shuts down the onboard processor to remove activity that is unnecessary during playback.

Power begins with custom-wound toroidal transformers and Lundahl inductors. GaN-ARC8 active rectification provides 376,000µF of energy storage, followed by four DC4 regulation modules using precision foil resistors. SmartStack vibration control, an asymmetric 10mm CNC-machined aluminum structure and IsoAcoustics feet address mechanical energy around the sensitive circuitry.

Command Performance AV can integrate NazaréNET with the NAZARÉ stack or another digital source, then verify copper, fiber, port speed and grounding choices. A reference switch cannot rescue a chaotic network, but in a disciplined system it can make the final audio-facing segment electrically quieter and easier to optimize.
