A matching network stage for the Next-Gen source components

The Innuos Next-Gen NET is an audiophile network switch intended to partner ZEN Next-Gen, ZENith Next-Gen and STATEMENT servers. It uses the company’s WaveNET platform, bringing the same purpose-built network architecture found higher in the range to a chassis and power design matched to the Next-Gen source components.

The rear panel provides four copper Ethernet ports and an SFP fiber connection. Copper makes straightforward connections to the router, server and other audio devices; fiber can remove the direct electrical path between network segments when the installation supports it. The choice should follow the topology of the home and listening room rather than the assumption that one medium is automatically best everywhere.

Power is centered on a 300VA transformer and ARC6 active rectification. Four independent CX-regulated rails serve critical areas of the WaveNET board, separating the oscillator, analog transceivers and digital control sections. This division matters because the analog physical-layer circuits handle small high-frequency signals while the controller creates its own switching noise. Supplying everything from one convenient rail would miss the point of the product.

Custom firmware initializes the network hardware, and the physical design adds substantial shielding and vibration control. The switch does not alter the audio data or replace basic network engineering. It is designed to reduce electrical noise and timing disturbance at the connection feeding the digital source. That distinction keeps expectations attached to what the hardware actually does.
