MoFi MasterDeck
High-Performance Audio Component
Reference analog engineering, built in Ann Arbor
The MoFi MasterDeck is the company's reference turntable, developed with designer Allen Perkins and assembled in limited batches in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Its architecture treats speed stability, record support, tonearm geometry and vibration control as parts of one mechanical system. The belt-drive platform supports 33.3, 45 and 78 RPM playback, with fine trim adjustment for collectors whose libraries extend beyond conventional LPs and singles.
A sensor-regulated drive monitors platter rotation while an isolated motor limits the vibration that can reach the stylus. The 14.35-pound platter combines aluminum with a Delrin coating and measures 1.75 inches thick. Aluminum provides mass and structural stability; Delrin presents the record with a mechanically compatible surface. Beneath it, an encapsulated spiral-groove inverted bearing is designed to distribute lubricant, reduce friction and maintain smooth rotation over time.
The included 10-inch carbon-fiber tonearm uses a dual-pivot unipivot/gimbal hybrid bearing arrangement. Its removable headshell makes cartridge changes practical, while adjustments for azimuth, vertical tracking angle, overhang and anti-skate allow precise setup. Cardas internal wiring protects the cartridge's tiny signal before it reaches the phono stage. The arm accommodates cartridges from 5 to 14 grams, giving owners useful freedom when choosing a moving-magnet or moving-coil design.
Harmonic Resolution Systems isolation feet support the 37.4-pound deck and provide 5.5 degrees of freedom to reduce environmental vibration and acoustic feedback. That matters because the stylus cannot distinguish modulation in the record groove from unwanted movement reaching it through the rack or floor.
Command Performance AV can install the MasterDeck, mount and align the chosen cartridge, set tracking force and anti-skate, and confirm speed before the first serious listening session. That complete setup is where the turntable's substantial engineering becomes repeatable performance rather than an impressive list of parts.
