Reference digital playback in a desktop-friendly chassis

The HiFi Rose RS451 combines network streaming, digital-to-analog conversion, preamplifier functions and a serious headphone stage in a compact component. Its front-panel touchscreen and large volume control allow direct operation, while the Rose Connect app extends control to phones, tablets and computers. This is not merely a smaller RS151: the RS451 is arranged for listeners who want the same broad digital ecosystem with dedicated headphone outputs and less rack space.

HiFi Rose separates digital processing from analog conversion through its DPC architecture, then applies its NRA noise-reduction design to the analog stage. An ESS ES9027PRO DAC supports PCM through 32-bit/768 kHz and native DSD512. A femto clock addresses timing accuracy, while independent channel supplies and a toroidal linear power supply reduce interaction between left, right and digital circuitry.

The headphone amplifier provides balanced XLR and 4.4-millimeter connections plus a conventional 6.35-millimeter output. That range makes it possible to use efficient dynamic headphones, more demanding loads and balanced cables without adding a separate amplifier. Rear-panel analog outputs allow the RS451 to serve a loudspeaker system as well.

Streaming support includes Roon Ready operation, AirPlay, DLNA, Spotify Connect, Tidal, Qobuz, Apple Music, RoseTube and internet radio. Local storage can be added through a 2.5-inch SATA SSD or USB drives, and network libraries are accessible through SMB, FTP and WebDAV. Fiber Ethernet and fiber USB connections offer additional electrical isolation where the surrounding digital system supports them. Command Performance AV can configure the RS451 for headphones, a power amplifier or a conventional preamplifier and determine which output path best suits the installation.
