Innuos NET1

High-Performance Audio Component

A compact network foundation for the STREAM1 system

The Innuos NET1 is the entry point to the company’s purpose-built network switches. Rather than treating an off-the-shelf data switch as finished audio hardware, Innuos designs the circuit, clocking and physical package around the electrically sensitive environment of a streaming system. Its compact case matches STREAM1 and LPS1, allowing the three components to sit side by side or form a tidy stack.

NET1 is intended to sit between the household network and the audio source. Four copper Ethernet ports allow the router, streamer and other audio network devices to be connected through one dedicated switch. Unlike NET3 and the larger Next-Gen and Nazaré models, NET1 does not provide an SFP fiber port. That distinction matters when planning a system that specifically needs optical isolation between network segments.

The internal platform draws from the earlier PhoenixNET design, including a high-precision 3ppb OCXO clock. Locating stable clocking close to the switching circuit and controlling the power around it are intended to reduce electrical noise and timing variation before network data reaches the streamer. NET1 is not a bandwidth accelerator, and it does not change the music file. Its purpose is to create a quieter electrical handoff at a point where ordinary network equipment is designed for cost and throughput rather than audio-system noise control.

The supplied power arrangement can be upgraded with the matching LPS1 linear power supply. LPS1 has two DC outputs, permitting it to power STREAM1 and NET1 together when their requirements are confirmed. That makes the three-box stack a deliberately integrated path rather than three unrelated accessories.

Command Performance AV can inspect the router location, cable runs, grounding and streamer connections before inserting a specialized switch. Network audio is unforgiving of vague diagrams; the correct topology is cheaper than troubleshooting folklore after installation.
